The perfect place to stay when touring Normandy. |
| |
Le Petit Chateau is a beautiful manor house in a small French village; a perfect base for touring Normandy by car. The style and decor of the house is immaculate - elegance and five star luxury combined. The charm of the house is enhanced by the owner, Madame Laye, who takes a personal pride in ensuring that her guests have every comfort, and spares no effort in advising on places to visit, the best restaurants and other helpful tips. The breakfast is something to behold - a sumptuous array of food that will leave even the biggest appetite satisfied. Having been wonderfully fed and watered, when we went out to our car to set off touring we found a bag containing more food for our journey attached to the windscreen wiper - a lovely touch.
It is always a gamble choosing somewhere to stay when one doesn't know the area well - in this case the gamble paid off and I would recommend Le Petit Chateau wholeheartedly to fellow travellers.
Thank you Madame Laye for making our break in Normandy so enjoyable - a trip to remember! |

Estancia acogedora en el pequeño castillo |
| |

Fabulous introduction to Normandy |
| |
From two Americans traveleing with friends from Belgium who own a B&B - Le Petit Chateau was a jewel of a find. We could not have been more pleased -- the chateau, the rooms, the AMAZING breakfast and of course the interaction with the owner and her family -- wonderful conversation, and owner shared information and ideas for sightseeing. Rooms are large, spotless, and charming. The surrounding town provided wonderful restaurants (particularly (in English) The Fork). I hope I have the opportunity to return but at the very least, I hope other friends/family will get to enjoy this perfect B&B. |

A beautiful and charming hidden gem, what a find, a truly enjoyable stay. |
| |
A really outstanding and charming chambre d'hote which is a remarkable small chateau. It is family friendly with an exceptional hostess who passionately wants to share her truly delightful home with you. I spent two nights with my mother and son aged 8. We all had a wonderful time and were enchanted by Le Petite Chateau. We used it as a base to visit Swiss Normandy, Caen and Falise, and Lisieux. I would recommend staying here as a base for the Normandy beaches and the whole of Calvados. The welcome is exceptional. The bedrooms are magnificently and individually decorated, there is a wonderful attention to detail, the rooms are large and spacious with a kettle for tea and coffee plus cold beverages (water/juices). There are also two sitting rooms on the ground floor for relaxation which are also beautifully decorated. Breakfast is really delicious, with a vast selection, you actually want for nothing. We had the wonderful added bonus of a violin recital from our host’s eldest daughter which was beautiful. Your host also welcomes children. My son was fortunate to have his own room which he loved. Do endeavour to stay at this wonderful petite chateau you really will not be disappointed. |

Perfect in every way |

We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay in Normandy. We received a lovely warm welcome and it just got better from there on! Charming, elegant, comfortable and absolutely spotless rooms. The breakfast was amazing and nothing was too much trouble. Our son was so pampered by Corinne and the girls that he wants to go back every year! Don't miss this beautiful spot. |

A must if you visit Normandy, 15 minutes from Caen and Falaise |
| |
Le Petit Chateau is beguiling but even more charming is the owner and host. We arrived late on a holiday when everything was closed; in an instant she drove us to a fabulous restaurant in Falaise had them open for us and the sous chief took us home. We were so comfortable that we overslept but she insisted upon feeding us a massive breakfast with crepes before our departure. It could not get better!! Jill and Lewis |

Beautiful chateau with the personal touch |
| |
We only found this little gem through a referral from another property that was full, and it was worth finding. Beautiful building, impeccably furnished with four very elegant rooms available in the main street of a small Normandy town. Corinne, our hostess, could not do enough to help us and ensured that in the short time we had, we saw the best of Normandy. Breakfast was superb and the rooms are decorated with individuality and flair. Only small negatives are that you have to drive to a restaurant for an evening meal- there's nothing close- and two of the rooms share a bathroom- a beautiful bathroom but a small inconvenience at night. Lots of nearby sightseeing with the Calvados and Camembert trails- beautiful countryside and we went to the wonderful Saturday market at nearby Lisieux then headed down to Camembert for the cheese experience. Highly recommended. |
